Half Moon Bay Review
400 Relay-Riordan, Bellarmine, Valley Christian.
Riordan turned in its fastest time of the season at San Jose CC.
1600-Alex Dunn (San Lorenzo Valley), Wayne Hopp (Bellarmine), Chris Ashley (Aragon).
While the first two spots appear to be a lock, third place will be a battle. Watch for Will Kraemer
of Saratoga, Alex Guney of
Bellarmine and Andrew Lamont of Half Moon Bay to contend for third place.
110 HH-Jeremy Liebs (Aragon), Erik Michon (Carlmont), Kent Centers (Bellarmine).
Liebs' technique is anything but robotic.
400-Chris Boykin (Bellarmine), Brandon Slack (Santa Cruz), Rafael Aguilar (Santa Teresa).
Boykin and Aguilar turned in their season best marks Saturday. Slack missed his season best by .03 seconds.
100-Rubin Williams (Valley Christian), Eric Wright (Riordan), Ronnie Drummer (North Salinas).
Williams should contend for the state title. Jeremy Konaris of Riordan will battle Drummer for third place.
800-Jacob Evans (Aptos), Richard La (Saratoga), David La (Saratoga).
With so many sub 1:58 runners in this race, the finish will be a close one. The camera should decide
who finishes where.
300 IH-William Faules (Homestead), Ral Powers (Carmel), Erik Michon (Carlmont).
Watch out for Parker Berling of St. Ignatius and Justin Meier of Palma.
200-Rubin Williams (Valley Christian), Chris Boykin (Bellarmine), Ronnie Drummer (N. Salinas).
If any of the three stumble out of the blocks, then watch out for Nick Cunningham of Monterey.
3200-Brett Gotcher (Aptos), Jeremy Mineau (Menlo-Atherton), Patrick Hernandez (San Benito-Hollister).
The hand-timed meet record of 9:01.6, set Gordon MacMitchell of Gunn back in 1973, could be broken
by the Stanford-bound
Gotcher.
1600 Relay-Bellarmine, Palma, Carmel.
Bellarmine will be racing against the clock.
HJ-Jihad Beauchman (Bellarmine), Kent Centers (Bellarmine), Erik Michon (Carlmont).
Eathan Clarke of Bellarmine could make it a sweep for the Bells.
PV-A.J. Wojcicka (San Benito-Hollister), David Cadena (King City), Paul Camaroto (Serra).
Kevin Bull of Harbor could place in the top three.
LJ-Eric Wright (Riordan), Ryan Donnelly (Bellarmine), Eathan Clarke (Bellarmine).
Rob Young of St. Ignatius will battle for a spot in the top three.
TJ-Jihad Beauchman (Bellarmine), Joel Tuosto (Greenfield), Brooke Emmanuel (Pacific Grove).
Tuosto will be the first person from Greenfield to qualify for the state meet.
SP-Adam Tafralis (Mills), Brian Hicks (Carmel), Eric Dooley (Serra).
Is Bob Brannon's record of 63-9, set back in 1964 while competing for Los Gatos, in danger? Yes.
DT-Nik Kay (Los Gatos), Adam Tafralis (Mills), Chris Hill (Palo Alto).
If Kay breaks 200 feet, he will set a CCS meet record, established by John Wirtz of Leland back in 1988.
Team-Bellarmine, Riordan and Carmel tie for second.
With Bells scoring in 10 events, a spot in the trophy case should already be cleared.
