2002 CCS Boys Track and Field Dope Sheet By Mark Foyer Half Moon Bay Review 400 Relay-Riordan, Bellarmine, Valley Christian. Riordan turned in its fastest time of the season at San Jose CC. 1600-Alex Dunn (San Lorenzo Valley), Wayne Hopp (Bellarmine), Chris Ashley (Aragon). While the first two spots appear to be a lock, third place will be a battle. Watch for Will Kraemer of Saratoga, Alex Guney of Bellarmine and Andrew Lamont of Half Moon Bay to contend for third place. 110 HH-Jeremy Liebs (Aragon), Erik Michon (Carlmont), Kent Centers (Bellarmine). Liebs' technique is anything but robotic. 400-Chris Boykin (Bellarmine), Brandon Slack (Santa Cruz), Rafael Aguilar (Santa Teresa). Boykin and Aguilar turned in their season best marks Saturday. Slack missed his season best by .03 seconds. 100-Rubin Williams (Valley Christian), Eric Wright (Riordan), Ronnie Drummer (North Salinas). Williams should contend for the state title. Jeremy Konaris of Riordan will battle Drummer for third place. 800-Jacob Evans (Aptos), Richard La (Saratoga), David La (Saratoga). With so many sub 1:58 runners in this race, the finish will be a close one. The camera should decide who finishes where. 300 IH-William Faules (Homestead), Ral Powers (Carmel), Erik Michon (Carlmont). Watch out for Parker Berling of St. Ignatius and Justin Meier of Palma. 200-Rubin Williams (Valley Christian), Chris Boykin (Bellarmine), Ronnie Drummer (N. Salinas). If any of the three stumble out of the blocks, then watch out for Nick Cunningham of Monterey. 3200-Brett Gotcher (Aptos), Jeremy Mineau (Menlo-Atherton), Patrick Hernandez (San Benito-Hollister). The hand-timed meet record of 9:01.6, set Gordon MacMitchell of Gunn back in 1973, could be broken by the Stanford-bound Gotcher. 1600 Relay-Bellarmine, Palma, Carmel. Bellarmine will be racing against the clock. HJ-Jihad Beauchman (Bellarmine), Kent Centers (Bellarmine), Erik Michon (Carlmont). Eathan Clarke of Bellarmine could make it a sweep for the Bells. PV-A.J. Wojcicka (San Benito-Hollister), David Cadena (King City), Paul Camaroto (Serra). Kevin Bull of Harbor could place in the top three. LJ-Eric Wright (Riordan), Ryan Donnelly (Bellarmine), Eathan Clarke (Bellarmine). Rob Young of St. Ignatius will battle for a spot in the top three. TJ-Jihad Beauchman (Bellarmine), Joel Tuosto (Greenfield), Brooke Emmanuel (Pacific Grove). Tuosto will be the first person from Greenfield to qualify for the state meet. SP-Adam Tafralis (Mills), Brian Hicks (Carmel), Eric Dooley (Serra). Is Bob Brannon's record of 63-9, set back in 1964 while competing for Los Gatos, in danger? Yes. DT-Nik Kay (Los Gatos), Adam Tafralis (Mills), Chris Hill (Palo Alto). If Kay breaks 200 feet, he will set a CCS meet record, established by John Wirtz of Leland back in 1988. Team-Bellarmine, Riordan and Carmel tie for second. With Bells scoring in 10 events, a spot in the trophy case should already be cleared.

This fielded is so loaded that maybe six people will get the automatic state qualifying mark of 5:02.73. 100 LH-Mary Meyman (Carlmont), Galina Becker (Mt. Pleasant), Stephanie Cheng (Palo Alto). Meyman is the class of the field. 400-Christina Hardeman (Wilcox), Natalie Beck (Monterey), Natalie Nunn (Aragon). While top two spots appear to be a lock, Nunn will be pushed to the limit by Ashley Monfort of Valley Christian and Vanessa Block of Santa Catalina. 100-Mary Meyman (Carlmont), Veronica Walker (Oak Grove), Elisa Geiger (Gunn). Holly Johnson of Leigh could break into the top three. 800-Shannon Rowbury (Sacred Heart Cathedral), Ashley Caldwell (Los Gatos), Lindsay Christman (Harbor). Caldwell's teammate Carolyn Penner could break into the top three. 300 LH-Danielle Povio (Milpitas), Lorraine Swaby (Monte Vista Christian), Stella Hall (St. Ignatius). Povio has run this event under 45 seconds. 200-Christina Hardeman (Wilcox), Elise Geiger (Gunn), Natalie Beck (Monterey). The battle will be for second and third. 3200-Casey Nevitt (Aptos), Melissa Grelli (Presentation), Ruth Graham (Gunn). This will be a fun race. Watch out for McKayla Plank of Mitty and Ciara Viehweg of St. Ignatius for one of the top three spots. 1600 Relay-Los Gatos, Silver Creek, San Lorenzo Valley. Los Gatos has the best time in the section. HJ-Devon Tracey (St. Ignatius), Kelsey Wiegmann (St. Ignatius), Michelle Taylor (Leigh). The competition will be close. PV-Jackie Nguyen (Castilleja), Kristin Loftin (Aptos), Patty Viri (Westmoor). Stevie Odie of Del Mar, Madeline Flint of Notre Dame-Belmont and Stephanie Starritt of San Benito-Hollister will make the competition close. LJ-Brittany Reynolds (Homestead), Mary Meyman (Carlmont), Jade Myles (Mt. Pleasant). All three jumpers have surpassed 18 feet. TJ-Jade Myles (Mt. Pleasant), Galina Becker (Mt. Pleasant), Sheridon McPherson (Lynbrook). Kim Christiansen of Los Gatos could break into the top three. SP-Kim Gleeson (Lynbrook), Mandy Bynum (Leland), Katie Isola (Burlingame). Crystal Cortez of Mt. Pleasant and Ramona Vae of Jefferson are two to watch for. DT-Kim Gleeson (Lynbrook), Liz Roscoe (Silver Creek), Naomi Ruiz (San Benito-Hollister). Gleeson is the class of the field. Team-Mt. Pleasant, Los Gatos, St. Ignatius. Jade Myles and Galina Becker will account for nearly all of Mt. Pleasant's points.
