West Valley Relays - 03/23&24/07
Coaches... some last minute info about our upcoming West Valley Relays. Please take note of all the information as it will make everybody's experience this year an enjoyable one. * The entry deadline is Monday, March 19th at 9pm. Use www.DirectAthletics.com (DA) for all entries. There will be no updates to marks or additions of athletes after this time. I will post up all the entries on the website by Tuesday night or early Wed. morning. * Entries . Please use marks/times from this season. Do not estimate your marks. * Conversions.... in the following events please DO NOT convert your athletes' times, even if they have competed in that distance this year. This will ensure that all fields are seeded equally. - 400m IH .... USE their best 300m IH time from this year - 1500m ...... USE their best 1600m time from this year - 3k/5k ........ USE their best 3200m time from this year * Starting Hts.... note the starting heights for the vertical jumps: - F/S Boys High Jump . 4' 10 - " " Pole Vault . 8' 6 - Vars. Girls HJ ... 3' 8 - " " PV ... 7' 0 - Vars. Boys HJ ... 5' 2 - " "PV .. 10' 0 * Minimum Measurements... for Saturday competition ONLY... we will only measure marks that meet the following minimum requirements: - Long Jump..... 16' boys ..... 13' girls - Triple Jump... 35' boys ..... 27' girls - Shot Put ....... 34' boys ..... 25' girls - Discus ......... 115' boys .... 80' girls * Entry Fees. you can register your team in an unlimited amount of races. Print out a copy of your entries and use the fee calculator on DA to determine your total. A maximum fee of $500 per school will charged if you exceed that amount. Make checks payable to Los Gatos Athletic Association. * Frosh-Soph vs Varsity Boys Entries. Only Freshmen and Sophomore Boys may compete on Friday in the Frosh-Soph Division. All grades may compete in Saturdays Varsity Division; however, if a F/S boy competed on Friday he MAY NOT compete on Saturday (including relays). * Relays . be sure to put in all athletes that you may run on a relay. DA allows you to enter up to 4 alternate athletes within each relay. * Substitutions. you can only substitute an athlete of yours with an athlete that is already entered in the meet (so if you have an athlete just doing relays, be sure to enter their name so that they are in the system too). * Parking. We will have free parking in Lot 6 (corner lot on Fruitvale and South College Circle) and along the tennis courts on S. College Circle. All other Lots require the purchase of a daily permit ($2 in quarters only). * Sports Basement. Once again, Sports Basement is our sponsor for the Relays. Be sure to stop by and visit the tent/booth that will be set up on the infield on Saturday. This year, in addition to having 15% off coupons available, they will also have a number of items for sale on site. including spikes, watches, and other accessories. The Sports Basement would also like to help you with your team fundraising. They will have flyers at the meet with more information about it. I think that about covers it. for now.
