Reonna Collier has been stripped of the state championship she won last season as a Piedmont Hills freshman in the 300 hurdles because transfer paperwork was not filed from the school to the Central Coast Section office, a section official said.

The individual CCS championships won by Collier in the 100, 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles as well as the 4×400 relay championship team she was part of have also been expunged, Steve Filios, an assistant CCS commissioner, said late Saturday night.

Collier began her freshman year at Vanden High in Fairfield. She transferred to Piedmont Hills in time for track season.

Piedmont Hills did not hide the fact that Collier transferred. When she became the first freshman to win four titles at a CCS finals, it was noted in the Mercury News story that she was a transfer from Vanden High-Fairfield.

Collier went on to win the state championship in the 300 hurdles in 40.90 seconds, the 10th-fastest time in state history, and was named Mercury News girls track and field athlete of the year.

As a sophomore, Collier transferred to Vacaville, a decision Piedmont Hills coach Chioke Robinson said in April was due to her parents getting back together.

"That was the most important thing," said Robinson, a longtime friend of the family.

Collier had been living with her mother, Robinson said.

The CCS said it did not become aware of Collier's transfer to Piedmont Hills until this year.

"We received a call from the Sac-Joaquin Section asking how we handled a double transfer," Filios said. "We didn't know what they were talking about because no transfer paperwork was filed when Collier transferred to Piedmont Hills."

Collier ran on the frosh-soph team at Vacaville this season.
