SUMMARY OF THE SEASON
The 1964 cross country season produced more outstanding individuals and teams
than at any time in the history of the sport in Northern California.
Individually Mike Ryan and Mike McCann turned in the first and third fastest two
mile times in the nation this year. Team-wise, according to time, Wilcox was
ranked second in the US with a time of 48:20.7, and Carlmont was third with 48:21.7.
Other Northen California teams that were among the top in the US were:

Homestead 7th Sunnyvale 10th
Berkeley 12th
The 1964 All Northern California team represents the third such team to be selected.
Mike Ryan, and Mike & Martin McCann have been selected to the honor team for three
consecutive years. Mike Ryan also has the distinction of having been named Cross
Country Athlete of the year on all three of these occasions.
