- Thirty plus runners consistently arrive for XC practice prior to the start of school. - Team is 14 girls & 47 guys (largest team ever by 4) - Lynbrook meet sees Lynbrooks second slowest guys & slowest gals times, ever. - The new course sees many people falling on their rumps. - Chris Deal wins F/S race and Chad Smith takes the JV Boys race. - Lynbrook guys & gals place 3rd. - Logan Center meet, Deal takes 2nd place. - Greg Mok goes the wrong way and gets DQ'd. - Firebird Invite, F/S Boys take second & JVG finish 4th. - Daiki Kuwahara just misses a win in the JV Boys race - 20 year old, brand new uniforms, finally make their debut. - Saratoga Invite, Matt Meyer wins JVB race and so does Lynbrook. - Paul Zimmerman misses his race by 1 minute. - Jon Choi pulls a Nick Tung but still hangs on for a medal. - Central Park Invite, Deal misses the win by 1/10. - Steph Claussen looses the first cookies of the year. - Whitsett, Lee, Deal, Berson, Smith (both), Kim S, Perng, Courtney all win medals. - Girls ranked in the Top 15 of the Merc. - Team written up 3 different times in the Saratoga News. - Stanford, running with the Big Boys - Most get 15 minutes to warm up - some get only 2 minutes. - Paul Z plays catch up missing the start by 10 seconds. - Sam Wu & James Lee show up after the race is over. - Evan Smith joins the 'Cookie Club', but doesn't remember. - HMB, "Who let the Dogs out!" - Cookies make it to the race - thanks Casey - Mike Olson has a great race and is #3 JVB. - The Scare House is a real scream. - Lee, Whitsett, Berson, Sasoon & Bossange all get hardware. - Rallye Run has a new champ with Jeff & Jason Whitsett and Ken Chung. - Hash Run has a few getting lost. - Priya's gets many into hill shape - Turf & Surf allows for some fun running (but wet). - Crystal, JV Boys (Varsity) score a low 29 to win. - JVG (Varsity) take 2nd, behind Sacred Heart. - Freshman Boys take 3rd - my first Frosh team ever. - Jeff Whitsett forgets which way to go. - Two days later, Whitsett & Berson come back to Crystal for PR's. - Foothill Invite, Freshman win big time! - Deal, Berson (2nd & 4th) along with Whitsett win shirts. - Senior boys are 4th, Junior boys 5th, Soph boys 7th & F/S girls 4th. - Priya's Hill for the last time / times. - Lynbrook Invite, a sloshy mess with fast times. - VB take 3rd and improve by 7:22 minutes (Wilcox sets team record). - Whitsett (3rd), C Deal (4th) and Berson (8th) all in the Top 10. - JVB garner the Top spot with their 3rd win of the year. - JVB improve by 8:04. - VG take 2nd place, beating Saratoga. - VG improve an incredible 11:52 (sandbagging?) - Lee (2nd), H Kim (4th) & S Kim (8th) all join the All Time Top 10. - DAL, Whitsett, Lee and S Kim all qualify for CCS. - F/S Boys win a League title (my first) - DAL Records: F/S 25 - 6 ('99 was 19 - 49) - JVB 17 - 11 ( " was 23 - 42) - JVG 16 - 13 ( " was 27 - 16) - VB 14 - 21 ( " was 21 - 89) - VG 16 - 16 ( " was 27 - 57) - CCS, Jeff PR's by 2 seconds after being out all week. - Sasoon runs another 50 second PR! - Francine gets a side ache before the mile and it never goes away. - Girls are ranked 36th on Crystal at end of season (out of 118). - Guys are ranked 45th. - JVB have #21 Lynbrook time on Crystal (legit JVB) - JVG have #3 Lynbrook time on Crystal. - VG have #7 Lynbrook time on Crystal (my best VG squad) - VB have #21 Lynbrook time on Crystal - F/S have #13 Lynbrook time on Crystal (my best F/S squad) - Coach has to fill out delinquencies and you have to get them - VG team GPA is 3.5714 - VB Team GPA is 3.2128 - 33 team members have a 3.5 GPA or better
