Kraemer, Follmar run to wins at Lynbrook

Will Kraemer continued his domination of the local cross country circuit when he romped to a win in the Lynbrook Invitational last Thursday.
But this time the Saratoga speedster had some company.
Saratoga freshman Alicia Follmar joined Kraemer as a varsity champ when she ran to a victory in the girls division at Lynbrook.
The two topped the effort for the Falcons, who had a big day on the Vikings' 2.1-mile course. Kraemer led the boys varsity to a team title, Follmar led the Falcons to a third-place finish in the girls varsity division and Saratoga also won team titles in boys and girls junior varsity races.
Conway Teng finished first overall to lead 'Toga to a team win in the boys JV race, and Claire Tero was second as the Falcons ran to a team victory in the girls JV class.
Lynbrook's Hyan Kim was the individual champion in the girls junior varsity race.
Kraemer dominated the field in the Thursday run, covering the distance in 10:37.5 to finish well ahead of the field. His nearest rival, Karl Skucha of Wilcox, was second in 10:51.8.
Saratoga's David La was fourth in 11:16.6 with Bret Stanger fifth in 11:19.3, Don Prolo eighth in 11:36.1 and Trevor Adams ninth in 11:39.3.
Jeff Whitsett was the top finisher for host Lynbrook. The senior ran 11:30.2 to claim sixth overall. Teammate Eugene Berson was 13th in 11:45.7 with Jonathan Choi 18th in 12:06.2.
Sophomore Austin Sardella led the Fremont effort, running seventh in 11:33.0. Randall Polgar was 10th for the Firebirds in 11:39.9 with Rick Trevino 17th in 12:05.6, Dennis Campos 20th in 12:11.6 and Min Park 21st in 12:13.1.
Joseph Feizzadeh was Homestead's top finisher, running 33rd in 12:59.7.
Follmar outran Homestead's Rebecca Boyle to the finish line, pulling out the varsity win by just over three seconds.
The Saratoga freshman hit in the line in 13:26.2 for the win, with Boyle hot on her heels in second at 13:29.4.
Lynbrook's Aya Wakabayashi finished fourth overall in 13:56.2, leading the Vikings to a team second behind Wilcox. Francine Lee was ninth in 14:33.6 with Sasson Kim 10th in 14:47.1, Kate Bossange 11th in 14:51.7 and Soo Lee 16th in 15:08.7.
Follmar's victory sparked Saratoga to a team third. Josie Chan was fifth in 14:15.2 for the Falcons with Parsan Saffaie 13th in 14:54.2, Jackie Molzon 14th in 15:00.9 and Eevi Aura 18th in 15:12.5.
Fremont's Virginia Colindres was 15th in 15:05.7 with Rassie Rorobora 19th in 15:16.6, and Homestead sophomore Stephanie Skidmore was 26th in 16:37.0.
Teng led Saratoga to the boys JV title by finishing first in 12:22.5. Justin Gardner was second in 12:23.6 with Steve Surrette third in 12:27.3, Max Tam 16th in 13:08.9 and Hari Subramaniam 17th in 13:11.8.
Lynbrook's Allen Chang was fourth in 12:29.1 with teammate Jesse Yeh sixth in 12:39.8, and Fremont's Haruki Shimoda was fifth in 12:35.8 with teammates Samatar Mohamed seventh in 12:46.6 and Joseph Seo ninth in 12:51.5.
Kim raced to a win in the girls JV race for Lynbrook, finishing in 15:09.0. She was joined in the top 10 by teammate Aga Goslicka, who ran fifth in 15:59.8.
Tero led the Falcons to the team title by finishing second in 15:28.9. Anna Aura was third in 15:31.7 with Natalie Ku fourth in 15:34.8, Lisa Noon seventh in 16:32.1 and Jessica Chang 10th in 17:00.4.
Day, Zelinski lead Panthers
Over in the Blossom Valley Athletic League, Prospect ran wins over Leigh, Hill and Westmont in boys action in the Santa Teresa Division of the circuit.
Junior Austin Day was the top Prospect finisher and Migk Song was second for the Panthers as they ran to wins over Leigh and Hill. Day covered the 2.85-mile Alum Rock Park course in 17:52 with Song running 18:02.
Andrew Tupper led Westmont to a split with Santa Teresa and Independence the same day. Tupper, a sophomore, ran 17:50 to lead the Warriors to the win over the 76ers, but they lost to the Saints.
Day came back to run 17:42 to lead the Panthers to a 17-38 win over Westmont a week later at Alum Rock.
In girls action, Danielle Zelinski ran strong for Prospect, but the Panthers lost a 15-50 decision to Westmont. Prospect ran an incomplete team in the race, but Zelinski was impressive, running fifth in 20:59 among all of the competitors from the division. Teammate Becky Palm was sixth in 21:04.
A week earlier, Zelinski was fifth in 20:16 with Palm sixth in 21:41 at the division meet.
Westmont's Liz Medicot was the first Westmont finisher, and she was 10th overall in 22:44 to lead the Warriors to wins over Santa Teresa and Independence.
St. Francis Invitational
Lynbrook's Whitsett, Westmont's Tupper and Prospect's Song were solid finishers at the Oct. 18 running of the St. Francis Invitational at Foothill Junior College.
Whitsett romped to an eighth-place in the senior boys division, covering the 3-mile course in 17:31. Tupper ran 19:06 to finish 17th in the sophomore boys division and Song ran 19:07 to nail 19th in the junior boys race.
Scott Smith was 23rd for Prospect in 19:30 in the junior event with teammate Austin Day 34th in 29:19. Westmont's Bo Tran ran 19:32 to finish 24th with Stephen Narre 25th in 19:36 for the Warriors.
Lynbrook's Morgan Katz ran 18:52 to finish 14th in the boys sophomore race with Vuta Nakata of Westmont 24th in 19:50.
In girls action, Lynbrook's Francine Lee was 10th in 21:21 in the junior-senior race and Wakabayashi was 10th in 21:35 in the frosh-soph division.
Palm ran 22:50 to claim 18th for Prospect in the girls frosh-soph event. Medicot was 31st for Westmont in 24:20 with teammate Sasina Telda 32nd in 24:33.
