2003 Highlites & Lowlites
- Team is 21 girls, 47 guys & 2 Coaches (above the Lynbrook average).
- Marshall Clark 4 Miler becomes an Annual event as Eugene takes 2nd place.
- Our First Labor Day Run had close to 50 folks running out behind Stevens Crk Dam.
Lynbrook Center Meet:
- Lots of construction on OUR course!
- Follmar gets lost for 3 steps and still sets a CR.
- MayC sets a Lynbrook Frosh record.
- 'Fresh Meat' makes its debut.
- First parent (Morgan's dad) runs the meet.
- Fastest Lynbrook F/S team time ever.
- 4th fastest Lynbrook JVG team time.
- MayC & Luis are Athletes Of The Week.
- The Clincher - Two football games were going on at the same time as the meet.
- We encounter a rattler out a Fremont Older.
- Matt Claussen gets a 'Pez Award' for his photo journalism
- Vincent Li wins Sharks & Minnows and also grabs a 'Pez Award'
- Justin gets the 'Almost Award' by taking out a car antenna
- Amanda tries running to De Anza JC but ends up at Fremont by mistake.
Firebird Invite:
- 90+ temps keep the times slow.
- JV Boys CRUSH the competition for the win.
- Chai leads until the last 50 meters, Sasaki gets out-leaned at the finish.
- 65 folks at Jakes - what a wild place.
- Tables compete for the loudest, "Thank You - Hank".
- Jonathan Kwan & Laura Hsieh are Athletes Of The Week.
Hawaii/Saratoga Invite:
- Eugene is 10 minutes late causing us to almost miss our plane :)
- Charles is the first (but not the last) to cut himself on the coral reef.
- Torch lit dinner - need I say more... we're in Hawaii!
- Christina Liao steps on a sea urchin - ouch.
- 9th & 11th place finishes out of 20+ teams.
- JVers step it up at Saratoga and run Varsity.
Central Park Invite:
- Jennifer Thomas is in 5th and gets led astray - where is the Benedril!
- VB & VG run with JVers while under strict orders.
- Fantastic snacks!
- F/S Boys take the win this week with Jason Wang's 4th place finish.
- Jason Wang & Laura Hsieh are Athletes of the Week.
Stanford:
- Welcome to the Big Dance, and this year we knew how to cha-cha.
- Aga & Christina took the Scenic Route back from the porto potties and got lost.
- Girls beat Paly for the first time this year.
- Eugene Berson & Aya Wakabayashi are Athletes Of the Week.
- Ryan Moseley knows everyones name before the coaches because of rollcall - thanks Ryan.
- Pasta feeds (and non-pasta feeds) are a regular tradition.
- Hash Run, Bagel Run, Jamba Juice Run, Slurpee Run, Donut run... you get the idea.
- Rallye Run - Alex Choy, Tim Jou, Jameson Lam & Daniel Low win this annual event.
Artichoke Invite:
- F/S Girls grab the title with MayC (1st) and Liao (5th) leading the charge.
- Frosh Boys take 3rd and get some hardware too.
- Scare House was such a hit some went through twice!
- Yvonne Fong and Jason Whitsett are Athletes of the Week.
Crystal #1:
- The Love Affair with Crystal begins?
- Folks see the course for the first time and run very strong.
- Varsity Girls run together and the break loose.
- Allen Chang & Sasoon Kim are Athletes Of the Week.
Crystal #2:
- Times start to drop as guys have 2 under 18:00 and 3 just over.
- Girls run a team School Record for Crystal Springs.
- JV Boys grab a 3rd while Freddie Yoon enjoys himself on this course.
- Angela Kao & Charles Chen are Athletes Of the Week.

- MayC medals but Aya misses - both go on to States.
- 5th place finish but our team time beats Los Gatos (who qualifies on)
- Team finishes 16th in the Combined Standings.
- MayC and Aga are the 2 PRs for the day (Aga by .4).
- Coach has to fill out delinquencies and you have to get them.
- VG team GPA is 3.6087 ('02 was 3.7143)
- VB Team GPA is 3.3913 ('02 was 3.6170)
