Lynbrook HS - Cross Country
2006 Highlites & Lowlites
- Team is 21 girls, 48 guys & 3 Coaches (biggest squad ever).
- Marshall Clark 4 Miler has 9 Lynbrook runners compete.
- Missy & Mandy are back as Coaches, and so is Anil and Anjali.
- Vashisht Madabhushi sets a School Record of 601.192 miles during the summer.
- Our Fourth Labor Day Run had 35 folks (all time high) running out behind Stevens Creek Dam.
Lynbrook Center Meet:
- 'Fresh Meat' continues its tradition.
- The Green should've been called The Dirt
- First time in 13 seasons that the meet was almost cancelled.
- Close finishes made it tough to choose the Hawaii team.
- A couple of wrong turns by some of the front JV Girls had them doubling back to run the full distance.
Firebird Invite:
- Luca pulls a 4th with Gene right behind him.
- Eric uses his hurdlers kick to place 1st Varsity Vike and 3rd overall.
- JV Boys, girls and F/S continue to dominate.
Saratoga Invite:
- Michelle Yee takes 2nd in JV girls.
- Lynbrook gets 5 in the Top 15 for JV girls.
- Ed Chao grabs some hardware.
- Amrit shows he's ready for the Varsity level.
Iolani Invite:
- MayC tries to carry on gels & liquids.
- Race day has the car with a dead battery, delays the boys by 70 minutes.
- 3rd race in a row Luca leads the Vikes and places 9th.
- Gene misses hardware by 1 place.
- VB takes 2nd!
- Van gets lost on the island at night coming back from the race.
- Swimming PAST sunset.
- The 'punching' begins.
- The radio keeps mysteriously changing channels.
Central Park Invite:
- Varsity runners run JV and are not allowed to medal (but they help Ed to the last one).
- Michelle runs her last race as JV.
- Priya's for the first time, and it was raining!
- Trivia question: Who was the model for this year's T-shirt?
Stanford:
- Running with the 'Big Dogs'.
- Quite a carnival - a whole new look at an Invitational
- Pasta feeds (and non-pasta feeds) are a regular tradition.
- Hash Run, Jamba Juice Run, Slurpee Run ..., you get the idea.
- Lots of screams because of the hobo underneath the blanket.
- In the Rallye Run, the team of Anna, Lauren, Jamie, Yvanna, Nandy & Mitha
beat the guys of Brandon, Archit, Andrew & Bryan by a score of 31 to 26.
Crystal #1:
- Archit & Anna getting part of an AJ special on the way back.
- So this is what hills look like...
- Ryan gets a bloody nose when he comes in contact with Michelle during weights.
- Last turf & surf before the weather turns cool.
- Sharks & Minnows (all 4 classes, but who really won?).
- Now how many strides is that... six or eight?
- Graduation Run happens on the Friday before Leagues and more than 3/4 of the team
makes the entire 9 mile trip (all for a donut).
Lynbrook Invite/FUHSD Championships:
- Day before the meet, Surprenant "owns" Luca and Archit during strides.
- A new course, NOT on the Lynbrook campus.
- Nishi starts in the Top 10 and finishes in 7th.

- VB Team GPA is 3.4791 ('05 was 3.6667)
