Lynbrook HS - Cross Country - 2008 Highlites & Lowlites
- Team is 26 girls (most ever), 46 guys & 2 Coaches, total=72 (biggest squad ever). Lynbrook Running Camp: - First ever Lynbrook Running Camp held in Tahoe with 7 hearty souls. - Coach Jake joining 'The Team'. - Andrew learning the dance "El Pasito Duranguense" with the ladies. - Luca chasing a bear and her 2 cubs, and not knowing it. Marshall Clark 4 Miler: - 6 Lynbrook runners participating. - Lauren winning the 13-15 age group. - The XC Team earning $1600. - Prajesh was the only 300 Mile clubber this year. - Ouch! A couple of hot ones the first week of school. - Can you say "Turf & Surf"? Ahhhhhhh. Lynbrook Center Meet: - 'Fresh Meat' continues its tradition. - Kuo takes over for Cindy and makes a wrong turn but still wins. - Varsity Boys start their winning streak. - Great start with teams taking 2nds & 3rd in all other divisions. Firebird Invite: - Another win for Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls get one as well. - Gustafson snags a 3rd in JV Boys race. - Nandini and JV Girls are ready to roll (check out pic 192) - Fundraiser adds $130 to the coffers. Saratoga Invite: - Lynbrook is on a tear winning VB, VG & F/S Boys. - Ngo gets lost and lost her lead. - Three wins in a row for Cindy and she's SJMN Athlete Of the Week. - Jang & Gene have a tremendous finish (see front cover). - Alums turn out to watch and are amazed at how good Lynbrook XC is. Central Park Invite: - More wins for Varsity Boys beating the #2 team in the State (Mt View). - Luca continues to look for that elusive win. - Vishal gets pushed around and 'bends' his arm - in a cast and out for a month. - Boris is our Staff Photographer. Pepperdine Invite: - What a Pasta Feed! - Cold but at least NO RAIN. - Ooooh, the competition is alot tougher this year. - Varsity Girls get a third. - Andrew Hsiu, where are you? - Charades on The Promanade (we get a crowd just be explaining the rules), winning team of Ryan, Daniel, Prajesh, Michelle, Kristen, Kirk & Brianna. - Jake and Karen dancing the night away. - Push-ups at Magic Mountain, don't be late. - Pasta feeds (and non-pasta feeds) are a regular tradition. - Hash Run, Jamba Juice Run, Slurpee Run ..., you get the idea. - Speaking of the Hash Run... Ian is the first to find me (22 minutes) while Tzu-Ping, Noopur & Shaleena were the last (65 minutes). - Rallye Run saw the team of Patrick, Samuel, Chris, AJ & Michael beat Amrit's team by 1/2 point. - Both Guys & Gals are ranked in the CCS Top 15 - a first for Lynbrook XC. Crystal Springs Invite - Varsity's went to this meet to see how good we really are (both take 5th). - Hills can hurt, just ask Jennifer. Monterey Bay Invite - Friday or Saturday - pick your poison. - A look at the CCS course. - Homecoming the same week makes for lots of tired runners. - Left Andrew at the Park - ooops. - Luca, and Varsity Boys, get the Toro School Records. Crystal Springs Center Meet #2 - Everyone gets to see Crystal this time & it's a hot one. - Varsity Girls beat Los Gatos (who eventually take 2nd at CCS). - JV Girls repeat the trick by taking 2nd and also beating the Wildcats. - Last turf & surf before the weather turns cool. - Sharks & Minnows - Ian, Alvin, Vivek and Amy hang the longest. - Now how many strides is that... six or eight? - Graduation Run happens on the Friday before Leagues and 90% of the team make the entire 9 mile trip (all for a donut). - And now get ready for some Stats: : 1835 XC team runners for Lynbrooks History (1477-B & 358-G) : Dual Meet winning percentage - Boys 97.0 & Girls 97.2 (Phenomenal!). Lynbrook Invite/FUHSD Championships: - Rain!
