Top 8 Meet - Idea
This is primarily for the ccs coaches, but all others may have
some ideas.  Some of the top 8 meet was again a "liars poker" meet.
The management was again tops (Willie & Ricky), but their idea that
we (coaches) have to police our own is impossible.  The honest
coaches had more of their athletes in the stands than the "I don't know how
to get on the internet" coaches who put in false times.....50.93 for a
53.2 400 runner.....  As long as the meet is so restricted, coaches are
going to lie "to benefit their athletes".  Several coaches who spoke up
at the meeting met angry athletes and coaches later (Oak Grove vs all).

I have talked to several of you and here goes an idea:

        Make the top 8 meet varsity only, that would allow more
heats and still maintain a reasonable time schedule.
        We still use "the list" and seed the top heat with only
marks from the list.
        The lane events could run 2-3 "flites"
        The 800 & 1600 could run two sections, PLEASE, no more
16 boys one 800.
        Field events could run flites and finals, with the best
seeded athletes in the last section before the finals.

The frosh-soph can still have their "day"; the best ones could
be in the varsity meet also.
