FINALS RESULTS

For the Varsity division each school may enter up to 3 athletes per event and 1 relay team. Varsity should have balanced seeding with top 1 from each heat and next best times totaling 9 advancing. In the 1600 it is the Top 2 per heat and the next 8 for 12 qualifiers. In the 800 we will do a one turn stagger and there will be trials for it. The only event for Varsity that will not run trials is the 3200. Finals as two seperate races. If there are 9 or less athletes (12 in the 1600) that are entered in an event, the trials will be skipped and all athletes will be sent on to the Finals. Varsity field events, each athlete gets 3 attempts then top 9 advance to Finals. On Finals they get 3 attempts, re-order for finals and 3 additional attempts with trials of that day carrying over. The marks from the previous "Trials" competition are not carried over. Flights will have 8-10 athletes per flight with the strong flight going second. If there are 10 or less athletes in the event, then trials will be skipped and all advance to the Finals. No Pole Vault at our finals. Trials are not needed in the 4x1 & 4x4 for boys since there are only 9 boys teams in the WBAL. If there are scratches for the finals, alternates will be used. Three alternates should be listed. For junior varsity each school is guaranteed at 3 entries per event and 1 relay team. If each team entered the maximum amount of athletes per individual event, there would be 36 entries in the girls and 27 entries in the boys. If we find teams did not enter 3 athletes, those spots would open up for other teams to fill beyond their 3 guaranteed entries. These will be filled in with the next best mark entered from any team. JV heats should be seeded fast to slow and run as finals, with the slow heat running first. There are no Trials. Points are based on merged results. All competing JV athletes are elligible to score points for their team. The Finals for the 3200 for JV's will be run at the Trials as two seperate races. JV field events, each competitor gets 3 attempts. Top 9 get reseeded and get an additional 3 attempts. For Trials, first events are at 9:00am with a rolling schedule and for finals it is a 4:00pm start. Points are awarded 10-8-6-4-2-1. Lanes are seeded 4-5-3-6-2-7-1-8 for 8 lanes and 5-6-4-7-3-8-2-9-1 for 9 lanes. The division order for events is JVG-JVB-VG-VB, except for hurdles where order is JVG-VG-JVB-VB. "B" teams are not allowed. Questions Remaining -------------------
