- Twenty plus runners consistently arrive for XC practice prior to the start of school. - Team is 19 girls & 30 guys (largest girls team ever by 4 ladies) - Lynbrook Center meet records Lynbrooks slowest guys & gals times, ever. - Whitsett wins F/S race. - Lynbrook guys tie Saratoga and the gals BEAT Saratoga & tie Prospect. - Del Mar Center meet, F/S take 2nd place. - Jeff is left at Del Mar (his folks went and got him). - Firebird Invite, gals take 7th (31 second spread), JVG take 3rd. - Lots of pizza after the race. - BV Invite, guys take 7th, gals take 4th, JVG win. - Jessica, Vanessa & Hyan go 1-2-3. - No one gets lost (unlike the previous year). - Central Park Invite, Whitsett wins 2nd F/S race of the year. - Lynbrook has a tough outing in all the divisions VB 11/11, VG 10/10, F/S 7/10, JVB 7/9, JVG 7/9 - Priya's Hill, the first time. - Turf & Surf's - Having to run BACK after a Turf & Surf - HMB, the bus ride over - Streb (20th) and Whitsett (8th) take home medals - F/S Miss beating Los Gatos by 7 points - JV Girls take 5th, missing Gunn by 2 points - Bus ride back, don't forget the Pumpkin Patch - Rallye Run has a perfect score (1st time ever) by Steph, Polly & Vanessa - X-C is "spelled" out in catsup by the Breakfast Club - Six Pasta Feeds - Thank You! & 3 bus rides - Saratoga (8 schools), Warren takes a spill. - Jeff looses a shoe (better than his lunch) - VB finish 1 point behind Fremont (but beats their team time) - VG finish 5th beating '98 time by 2 minutes - Zimmerman takes a close 4th in JVB (top 5 get medals) - JVB finish 4th, 6 points out of 3rd - F/S feels the effect of Whitsett & Tsu running Varsity, finishing 8th - Crystal, JV Boys (Varsity) take 2nd to Los Gatos - JVG (Varsity) take 1st, beating SF - Combined, boys are 14/32 and girls are 13/31 - Foothill, Whitsett gets only shirt for the day as Soph Boys take 11th - Junior Boys are 8th. - Junior/Senior girls are 4th - Christina misses a turn and takes a short cut - Priya's Hill for the last time / times. - Lynbrook Invite has 10 people garner medals - VG improve 6:19 from start of the year - VG time is fastest Lynbrook time ever by :53 seconds - VG finish 4th - Sam Wu pulls a Nick Tung (or is that a Ken Chung?) - VB have 4th fastest Lynbrook time and improve by 5:57 - JVB #3 fastest time and improve by 3:50 - JVG fastest JVG time ever by over 8:00 and finish 2nd - DAL, girls qualify for CCS - Yu & Whitsett qualify for CCS - All but 6 people PR on the Crystal course - Frances & Ellin miss the bus - Donut run - Jeff finally tosses his cookies for the year - CCS, Jeff & Kai PR on Crystal - Girls run 5 minutes slower than League time - Vanessa pulls a Jeff - Girls are ranked 34th on Crystal at end of season (out of 114) - Guys are ranked about 60th - JVB have #2 Lynbrook time on Crystal (legit JVB) - JVG have top Lynbrook time on Crystal by 3:00 - VG have #7 Lynbrook time on Crystal - VB have #25 Lynbrook time on Crystal - F/S have #16 Lynbrook time on Crystal - Records: F/S 19 - 49 ('98 was 20 - 18) - JVB 23 - 42 ('98 was 25 - 16) - JVG 27 - 16 ('98 was 17 - 13) - VB 21 - 89 ('98 was 25 - 89) - 21 - 68 with no Center meet #1 - VG 27 - 57 ('98 was 35 - 58) - 27 - 41 with no Center meet #1 - Coach has to fill out delinquencies and you have to get them - VG team GPA is 3.5833 - VB Team GPA is 3.6956 (highest guys GPA since I've been at Lynbrook) - 26 team members have a 3.5 GPA or better
