Monterey Bay Invitational Friday, October 17, 2003 (PSAT Division) Saturday, October 18, 2003 (VIKING Division) It is our privlege to invite you and your athletes to the fifth annual Monterey Bay Invitational, a Central Coast Section Sanctioned Meet. The 3.0 mile course consist of grass, wide dirt trails, long gradual up & down paths, with some challenging short hills in the middle 1.5 to 2.0 mark. The Park itself is an awesome place to have a meet as there are lots of picnic and BBQ areas with bathrooms, large grass play areas nestled among hundreds of giant oak trees. 10/17/03 Friday (PSAT Division) Awards: Medals Team 3:15 Girls JV 3.0 Miles Top 10 1st 4:00 Boys Varsity 3.0 Miles Top 15 1st & 2nd 4:30 Girls Varsity 3.0 Miles Top 15 1st & 2nd 5:00 Boys JV 3.0 Miles Top 10 1st Individual Medals to be handed out at finish chute. Many F/S teams have more than 7 runners and this would be an ideal race for those not in your scoring team. The race is open to all F/S runners, however the team competition will be on the three mile course only. Individual Medals to be handed out at finish chute. Team Medals/Awards to be presented at starting line area as soon as possible after conclusion of results. ENTRY FEES: $120.00 school max, $25.00 per race, $5.00 per individual. Make checks payable to: NORTH SALINAS HIGH SCHOOL XC PARKING: Busses are free, all other vehicles are $5.00. Vans filled with team members in uniform usually are not charged a park entrance fee. JV & Varsity teams are only allowed to enter 1 race. No athlete is allowed to participate in more than 1 race in the meet.

Driving Directions

Coming from the North (San Jose): Take 101 South to Salinas and get off at the Laurel Exit. Take a right hand turn and get into the left turn lane. Go left on to Davis Rd. and continue on Davis to Blanco (about a 1 mile over the bridge and first stop light after bridge). Turn left on to Blanco and go approximately one 1/2 miles to Main Street (Shell Station on right). Go right on Main St. also known as Hwy. 68. Stay on Hwy 68 for about 5 miles and exit at Portola. Go right at the stop sign and under the bridge and it takes you into Toro Park. Coming from Monterey: Take Hwy. 68 east exit at Portola. Go right at the stop sign into Toro Park. Coming from the South (King City): Take 101 North to Abbott St. (a left exit). Take Abbott to Blanco and turn left (Denny's is on the corner). Continue on Blanco to Main St. or Hwy 68. Turn left on to Hwy 68 (Star Market on the corner). Stay on Hwy 68 for about 5 miles and exit at Portola. Go right at the stop sign and under the bridge and it takes you into Toro Park.
