2004 Highlites & Lowlites
- Team is 19 girls, 48 guys & 3 Coaches (above the Lynbrook average). - Marshall Clark 4 Miler becomes an Annual event. - Steph will "BE BACK" - but only on a limited basis. - Missy joins the team as a Coach, and so does Anil. - Our Second Labor Day Run had 21 folks running out behind Stevens Creek Dam. - Due to budget cuts, we start charging a Competition/Transportation Fee. - Saturdays with Steph become a weekly thing, going all over the area. Lynbrook Center Meet: - Construction is over! - MayC sets a Lynbrook Soph record. - 'Fresh Meat' continues its tradition. - NO Football games were happening this year. Firebird Invite: - The team runs well, lots of dusty finishes. Ribbons & Pizza at Jakes. - JV Boys take 3rd thanks to 6th man Bob Wang. - Shamil Hargoven "should've" won but Wilcox moves their #1 VB down to JV. - F/S also grabs a 3rd place team finish with Jason Wang finishing 4th. - 67 folks at Jakes - what a wild place. Saratoga Invite: - Varsity Boys grab a second place finish and Luis Jensen is 6th. - MayC beats Julianne for the first (and last) time this season. - JV Boys win this one outright with Andrew Xiao leading the Vikes. - JV Girls take 3rd with Anna Sun placing 5th. - MayC gets on Saratoga All Time list (#5). Central Park Invite: - Jensen gets within 6 seconds of Hari. - Jason Wang wins the F/S race with a tremendous kick, team takes 3rd. Stanford: - Lynbrook Ladies beat NMC - who is a ranked CCS team. - The guys aren't as lucky (NMC wins) but they do beat rivals Cupertino & Homestead. - Pasta feeds (and non-pasta feeds) are a regular tradition. - Hash Run, Bagel Run, Jamba Juice Run, Slurpee Run, Donut run... you get the idea. - Rallye Run: Cindy, Aditi, Lauren, Metha, Nishi, Helena & Missy win this annual event. - Scavenger Hunt: Aditi, Helena, Cindy, Mehta, Nishi, Julia & Lauren take down the other 7 teams. Artichoke Invite: - Jensen goes from 9th to 26th in the last 1200 meters, but still grabs hardware. - MayC finishes 3rd in the F/S Girls race. - Newbies say that the hill was not "that bad". - Pumpkin Patch is closing, we better hurry. - Steph needs 4 big pumpkins, Hank & Jon help carry them back. - Scare House was such a hit some went through twice! Toro Park: - First look at Toro as the Boys & Girls eye a CCS berth. - Hargoven gets a REAL close look at the course while doing a faceplant. - Paul Lee takes 20th while leading Lynbrook to a 4th place finish. - MayC takes 8th in the Varsity Girls race. - Cindy Ju places 5th while battleing with the SF twins Yvonne Fong takes 14th. - F/S Girls prevail over St Francis with a 68-72 team win. - LiveStrong bands make their appearance - what jewlery... Crystal #1: - Folks see the course for the first time and run very strong. - JV Girls have a :13 spread between runners 1-5 while finishing 4th. - At Serra, the following Sat, 4 of the 5 runners PR. - 9 people are in the pool all at once, a record - should I be worried ... - Pham, Teng & Sasaki spend their season on upper body work. - Jason Wang shows his fancy footwork on DDR. - Priya's turns into a war zone when the bees come out in force - 5 stung. - Last turf & surf before the weather turns cool. - DeSimone swims, bikes & runs all season - triathlon training...? Crystal #2: - Times start to drop as guys run 20 seconds off the CCS qualifier time. - Jensen becomes the fastest Lynbrook runner of the 2000's on Crystal with a 16:43 time. - Wang, Tsai & Kwan all break 18:00 - things are looking good. - Varsity girls miss qualifying time by 1 second - it's in the bag. - Lynbrook Girls beat Saratoga led by MayC's 19:26 finish. Lynbrook Invite/FUHSD Championships: - Everything goes very smoothly, whithout a football game to run through, why shouldn't it? DAL: - This is what we have ALL trained for. - Apparently the nerves got the best of us, no one has their best race and the bus ride home is somber. - MayC, Cindy and Luis make CCS as individuals! - Luis Jensen (38) makes the All-Time 100 Crystal list, #28 Senior. - Jason Wang (78) and #44 Soph. - Christina Liu (20) makes the All-Time 50 Crystal list, #9 Junior. - Cindy Ju (21) and #7 Frosh. - Helena Stahlberg (39) and #17 Junior. - Shruti Waghray (42) and #18 Junior. - Anna Sun (47) and #26 Soph. - Shirley Liu (50) and #28 Soph. - VB are #21 team time - fastest team I've ever coached at Lynbrook by 33 seconds. - VG are # 4 team time and JVG are #2 team time. - All League folks are: : Luis Jensen - VB - 15th : Michael Liu - F/S - 9th : MayC Huang - VG - 8th : Shirley Liu - JVG - 12th : Anna Sun - JVG - 15th - DAL Records: (2004 / 2003) F/S 34 - 12 / 27 - 11 JVB 33 - 14 / 32 - 6 JVG 31 - 12 / 23 - 12 VB 23 - 22 / 15 - 16 VG 25 - 23 / 20 - 9 CCS: - MayC runs a best time with cow pants on her heels and qualifys for State. - Cindy and Luis run personal bests and the ride home is jubilent. - Out of ALL of CCS they are: MayC 20th ( 8th D2) Cindy 144th (54th D2) Luis 72nd (21st D2) - MayC snags a date to Winter formal!! - Coach has to fill out delinquencies and you have to get them. - VG team GPA is 3.8571 ('03 was 3.6087) - VB Team GPA is 3.5217 ('03 was 3.3913)
