Accomplishment: After a disappointing sophomore season in which she was slowed by sore knees, Bergman returned to win the Central Coast Section Division IV cross-country title for the second time, covering the 2.95-mile Crystal Springs Course in 17 minutes, 33 seconds. Bergman won CCS as a freshman and was third last year, but skipped the track season, joining the swim team to rehabilitate her knees. "Jennifer has worked so hard to become healthy," Coach Jonathan Lee said. "She ran two personal bests at Crystal this year, and I think she could have done it again, but she was running by herself for the last mile and a half. She doesn't back down from anyone - she is a courageous runner."
