All CCS: Due to a Staff shortage at the Mercury, they are unable to publish the All-CCS team so here they are posted... congratulations.

Happy New Year!: Now let's move on to track. Yes, the All-CCS XC team has not yet been posted (we're waiting on the SJ Mercury News) but once it's published I will post both here and on the Track page so you won't miss it. FootLocker Natl's Videos: Did you miss them when they were on TV? They can be viewed at: GIRLS / BOYS but be sure you have a fast connection before trying to watch them.

Galen Rupp (DNF): has his Footlocker National experience explained by ex-St Francis coach Dave Frank.

CalTrack All NorCal: Tim Nelson (NS) and Rachel Bryan (SJS) lead the CalTrack All NorCal Team with some excellent representation from the CCS.

1977 MSAC JC Invite: Check out the MSAC (4 mi) course from 25 years ago (it's says 1975 but it's really 1977). 2:30 video thanks to CSM.

FootLocker-West: pics finally get posted - lots of Aggies.

The Christmas Song: Maybe it was running the XC Nationals 10K in 60MPH winds but driving home from Sacramento I heard this song and in my XC state of mind found it funny (if you're an animal rights activist you might want to just skip this song).

FootLocker History: Great job by Doug Speck of putting together the history of the Kinney/Footlocker Nationals.

SJ Merc on CCS Commissioner: The CCS office has had some tough times lately with the DQs and all, but they were there for Lynbrook Girls XC when we needed them to be.

At-Large Mis-calculation: Lynbrook Girls are effected and are now invited to participate in the State Meet.

All-Comer 2 mile: Looking for a fast 2 mile on a great track since you're in super shape? Come race on 11/26 at 5:30 at SJCC on the mondo track.

CCS: Best CCS XC finish ever (boys or girls) for the Lady Vikes capturing 3rd place. Wakabayashi qualifies for State by finishing 8th overall. Berson finishes 36th with a 30+ second PR. New CBEDS for 2003: Take a look at who moves around...
- Aptos, Fremont, and Serra move down to Division II from Division I
- Menlo-Atherton moves up from Division II to Division I
- C'tino, Mitty, and Palo Alto move up from Division III to Division II
- Terra Nova moves down from Division II to Division III
- Santa Cruz moves up from Division IV to Division III
- SLV and Prospect move down from Division III to Division IV

Saratoga News: Lynbrook Invite is written up.

Note from Alan Green: on CCS - N Salinas will once again host a BBQ at the CCS meet but they will cook AWAY from the course in a different area as to eliminate any smoke caused from BBQing. Alan asks that if teams plan to BBQ to please cook AWAY from the course. Ask him for specific areas if you need to.

DAL Finals: Lynbrook VG, JVG both take 2nd - the best ever in Lynbrook's history for the ladies. JVB take 2nd, F/S take 3rd and VB take 6th. Eugene Berson Goes to CCS as an individual while Aya Wakabayashi, Zohreh Akhaven, Christina Liao, Sasoon Kim, Aga Goslicka, Kate Bossange & Francine Lee go as a team.

CCS Forms: With Leagues this week, CCS is not far behind... two forms you may want, the T-Shirt Order Form and the Travel Reimbursement Form.

Lynbrook Invite: Luis Jensen is Top Dog this Race as is Aya Wakabayashi. Shruti Waghray PR's by over 2:00 as do Daniel Lin, Felix Hung, Elmeri Rapo, Josh Wong & Felix Wu.

Monterey Bay Invite: Great Meet on a great course - looking forward to CCS! Luis Jensen ran as man #3, where'd that come from??? Jennifer Thomas likes this course running a super race.

Letterman Jackets: All Varsity athletes interested in purchasing a Letter Jacket MUST pick up information from Mr. Rogers or Ms. Nichols ASAP. Ordering day is Wednesday, Oct. 23 at lunch in the film room.

Crystal Springs Schedule: In case you were wondering when Crystal Springs has races scheduled... do not work out there on these days.

SCVAL Crystal Meet: A hot one! VG came thru big time with a 6th man tiebreaker win over 9th ranked Paly. JVB have a solid 2nd place behind Gunn while JVG eek out a 3rd place by 1 point over Milpitas. VB were missing their #1 runner but still ran superb on this 95+ day.

Jewlery & Uniform Rule: An update from Ernie Lee (Gunn) on these 2 rules. To see the actual report, goto DyeStatCal page.

CIF Advisory: Committee had their Track & XC meeting and here are the minutes. New rules for the PV landing area... check it out.

Rallye Run: had a record number of teams this year and was won by Paul Yu, Victor Li and Calvin Wu.

Saratoga News: Continues to give Saratoga and Lynbrook great local coverage.

Stanford Results: PR's all over the place, some by as much as 2 minutes! Wakabayashi & Akhavan togther the whole way with Aya getting the nod. Hao has another great race and is #2 the second race in a row.

CCS's Ruth Graham (Gunn): is California XC Athlete Of The Week ... Congrats.

Stanford Invitational Article: SJ Mercury covers the Stanford Invitational.

Central Park Invite: VB came away with their best performance of the year, beating Monta Vista and being right behind Los Gatos. The ladies also had a great race by beating 14th ranked Monta Vista and this without our #2 & #5 girls.

Iolani Invite: A quick update from Gunn coach Ernie Lee on the 'happenings' of the Iolani Invite.

CCS Minutes: Toro Park site was decided and stated that there would be no further discussion of the issue.

Saratoga Meet: VG and JVB come thru with 1st place wins while Wakabayashi (2nd) and Katz (1st) lead the way.

CCS Entry Form: I know it's early to think CCS but you might want to print this form off so you have it when the time comes.

Crystal Springs Schedule: Has been updated by Bob Rush and sent for posting. Read carefully for some things have changed.

CCS's Ciara Viehweg (SI): is California XC Athlete Of The Week.

Firebird Invite: Alot of PR's but really impressive was the 1-3 finish in the JV Girls race by Zohreh Akhavan & Christina Liao. JV Boys also come thru with their 2nd place team finish.

Lady Vikes #13: I know it's early, but for the first time in quite awhile, maybe ever, the Lynbrook Ladies are ranked #13 in CCS - way to go gals!

Lynbrook Center Meet: Has great times turned in by Berson, Whitsett & Hao on the VB side and Wakabayashi, Lee & Goslicka on the VG. Sun & Sasaki go 10th & 11th in the FSB, while Hsiao and Akhavan surprise with a 6th & 3rd in the JV races.

Pre-Season: Nor-Cal runners to watch this fall (order by Section, School, name).

Terry Ward: will submit a pre-season CCS ranking to the Mercury News on Monday - you have 'til Sunday night to get him your picks for Guys & Girls. It will also be posted here early next week.

300 Mile Club: Adds 4 more members - all are first timers.

Lynbrook Girls Track #1 in State: The Lady Vikes have the top GPA in the State for Girls Track Teams - way to go gals!.

Artichoke Invitational is ON: Per a message posted by Kevin Ostenberg (HMB XC Coach) on Aug 16th, the Artichoke Invite is a GO for the year.

Jones & May: A couple of future CCS stars? Christine Jones is an incoming Freshman and Hilary May will follow her a year later.

Toro Park: Wondering what the map of the Toro Park XC course is? Just got a map from Alan Green (via Jim Hume) of the course layout.

Update #2: Less than a month to start XC - start getting in shape, NOW!

Habitat For Humanity: Runners - Are you bored of summer yet? Are you looking to get your volunteer hours in so you don't have to worry about them during the school year? Habitat For Humanity is building 4 houses in the Campbell area and are looking for helpers - check it out.

It's XC Time! : Welcome. Lots of AC Meets, camps and Road Racing that can be done. Or just general running to get/stay in shape.

: Are you a 'gamer'? PS2, XBOX, GameCube... I'm involved with putting on the 1st Annual Maxgames to be played on the IMAX Dome at the Tech on August 15th - if interested, check it out.

CCS XC Site: The Board of Managers has approved a procedure to be established which will see CCS XC finals to alternate between North & South sites.
