PAL Finals (11/05) CCS Meet Info / Preview / Entries 2022 Track: Still looking for 2022 Track results. ================ ARTICLES & MISC ================= An 11 minute video by Cupertino's Chris Jackson's dad shows 1975 FAL, Region 2 and CCS Finals (when it was one division and crowded). All-State Certificates can be found at the following links (Boys / Girls). Los Altos girls not only won States but are also invited to NXN. Only the second team in CCS History (St Francis Boys were the first in 2018). A bit choppy on the downhill just past 2miles and chewed up 1000mtrs from the finish but Crystal is fast as evidenced by Kaiya Brooks (CSUS) with her solo 17:26.6 time at the WBAL Finals. At the Lynbrook Invite we had repeat winners for both Varsity Individuals and Varsity Teams. Nikhida Saldi (Monta Vista) and Sahil Raj (Milpitas) made it two in a row as did the Monta Vista Ladies and the Lynbrook Vikes. Grant Morgenfeld (Paly) breaks the Gunn HS Course Record of 10:13 by Kent Slaney (Paly - 2016) with a 10:09.6 clocking today at the Palo Alto City Meet. Eli Fitchen-Young (Santa Cruz) runs 14:57.0 which breaks the Sophomore Class record on Crystal by a lean, a mere .2 seconds over Felix Soto (MP) set in 1977. Lauren Soobrian (Los Altos) runs 17:41.1 which is tied for #58 on the All-Time Crystal list. PAL has created a new XC Course: Bedwell-Bayfront Park. At the end of Marsh Rd (Facebook area) in Menlo Park. The New Kids on the block - welcome to the SCVAL Kathleen MacDonald HS. OutRun Lupus 5K: At Campbell Park, 112 folks came out to support a cure for Lupus. A Charger and some Vikes - SCVAL #1 got off to a great start for the XC Season (Meet Photos). Song Of A Harrier: by Faye Hull. Since I got this from Yanicks' Archives (M-A coach) and Dave Hull (M-A '75) was their Top Runner, I'm guessing Dave and the author are related. 2022 Cross Country has finally begun at Crystal Springs. Eliott Daniels (De Anza) runs a JC Course Record (2.95) of 15:23.9 breaking Evan Franco's mark of 15:27.9 run last year. Palo Corona XC Course: Check out the new XC course in Carmel. Site of the 2023 CCS Championships. SCVAL Pre-season meeting: Aug 17th, 6:30 pm at Saratoga HS Team Room (by pool). Send any agenda items, by August 15th, to Paul Armstrong. Meeting handouts ARE HERE. Crystal Springs "clean-up day" happened on Aug 13th. Bellarmine, Serra, Westmoor, Capuchino, Los Gatos, CCS folks and many others came out to help prepare the course. State Team Qualifiers: How many Teams each Section sends to State Meet. Walk-on Coaches: Ever wonder how Walk-on coaches came about? Well, starting with the 1980-1981 "Winter" sports season, Walk-On Coaches can now hold the Head Coaching position without having to be an employee/teacher of the school. Boys playing on girls teams : In July 1979, the MA Supreme Court said Boys must be allowed to compete on a Girls team if the school doesn't offer a boys team (ie. Field Hockey).
