Timing Calendar

Junior Olympics: Los Gatos Track Club summary and pictures.

NorCal Power Events Clinic: January 7th @ Prospect HS.

Bellarmine All-Comer Dec 10th: The 9:00 am 2 mile will be broken into heats and used by us, at least, as a Postal time trial… runners can run fast heats of the 3200 for Postal. All events will have Brad Lindemann timing FAT with our FinishLynx system.

Angela Liu, Coach Jake White and Maryam Jawid: at States for Lynbrook.

Harker School: needs two assistant track coaches, duties range from sprints/hurdles/jumps depending on experience and knowledge. This is a paid position, workouts begin January 4, 3:15p-5:15p, Monday to Friday, some Saturdays. Email inquiries to head coach: Scott Chisam, scottc@staff.harker.org.

Coach Stephanie Bambury (Hovancik): started as a State Meet competitor for the Lynbrook Vikings and is now the Head Coach for the DV Wildcats at States with BOTH her guys and gals teams, way to go and best of luck.

SCVAL Post-season meeting: Nov 15th, 5:30 pm at FUHSD District Offices, California Room.

Cupertino HS: is looking for track coaches for the 2017 season. Coaches for throws, jumps, sprints, and distance are needed. Email Coach Armstrong at CoachA@TinoRunners.org.

Senior "Encore" Games: It can never be too early for track so the day after spending all day at the CCS XC Finals I was up at CSM timing the Senior "Encore" Games.

WCAL Meet Pics: Steve Fuller Meet Pics Here, If you want a larger size image for your personal use, please email stevefuller431@gmail.com and I will send you the full image (3.5 MB- 4MB suitable for enlargement up to 11x14) for free. Please include the RACE (Girls Varsity, etc.), ATHLETE NAME and SCHOOL, and the PHOTO NUMBER (when you click on the image just above the image will be "Photo x of y"; send me the 'x' number).

Big West Conf Champs: Lynbrook alum Justin Robison finishes 5th overall in Hawaii helping SLO take the title. The Poly Ladies also won with CCS alums Molly Haar (Mitty) and Cate Ratliff (Santa Cruz) helping the Mustang's win.

CSM All-Comer 2 Mile: Note that this event is open to ALL athletes. CSM is hosting an All-Comer 2 mile meet on Nov 19. Click on link to the left for more info or go to Meet Website.

JH County Meet: 422 finishers representing 39 schools participated in the Santa Clara County Cross Country Invitational at Montgomery Hill Park on Oct 18. The course was 2.06 miles and four course records were broken. Colin Peattie of Fisher (Los Gatos) smashed the previous course record (12:00) set in 2013 by Alex Scales of Dartmouth (currently running at Bellarmine). The new time to beat is a very fast 11:38. Colin is the first recorded middle school runner to ever average under 6 minutes per mile on the course. Justin Pretre from Woodside set a course record for 6th graders with a 12:52, and Nathan Green from Campbell Christian School set a new 4th grade record at 15:28. Tauren Mitchell from Rolling Hills broke the 5th grade girls course record by 1 second with her 14:34 and was the 7th fastest girl on the course (out of 182).

Paly & McFarland: In the movie "McFarland", Palo Alto is made out to be the 'Bad Boys' (no matter that they didn't compete against them at State). Well at Clovis, the teams got together for this photo op with the "real" Jim White on the right.

Octoberfest 5k & 10K: was held this past weekend in downtown Campbell and we were able to sneak it in between the rains.

Frank Hunt (Aragon): the 2016 CCS Girls Honor Coach for XC.

CCS is changed to Crystal Springs: After a conversation with Management from Toro Park, Commissioner Morgan and our Staff have determined that, in the best interest of our student-athletes and everyone involved with conducting the CCS Cross Country Championship, the 2016 Cross Country Championships will be moved to Crystal Springs Cross Country Course. As many of you know, Toro Park is still being used by Cal Fire and the USFS to deal with the Soberanes Fire and, due to their extended stay, is not in great shape and will require work and time in order to host the type of event that we have come to enjoy in the “even years”. Knowing that, and due to the recent cancellation of the Monterey Bay Invitational, our Office has officially contacted the management team at Crystal Springs Cross Country Course who have graciously agreed to accommodate the CCS Championships this year. I want to thank you our MBL colleagues for the planning and communication which they have provided our Office this Fall and I thank all those connected with conducting the Meet at Crystal Springs for their willingness to take on the Meet again this year.

Lynbrook Rallye Run: was held last Friday and two teams tied with 20 points each, as we went to the tie-breaker (how far did they run) the team of Irene, Angela, Aaron, Kevin, Edward & Andrew took the title over the team of Tru, Brian, Nachiket & Vincent. Job well done for the 7 teams (30 participants) that attempted this Race of Wit.

Milpitas High School: is in need of a jumps coach. It's a stipend position. Interested should contact Bridget.

SCVAL Cup: What is it? Click on the left to find out. Faux 2015 Standings. Current Standings.

Pioneer High School: is looking for a Hurdles Coach, Throwing Coach.

Kent Slaney (Paly): breaks Philip MacQuitty (Paly '09) Course Record by 11 seconds at the Gunn Alumni Meet. Meet Pictures Here.

Gunderson is located in South San Jose (easily seen from the 85 and 87 interchange) and competes in the BVAL. These athletes have a great attitude, willing to work hard and several have a solid foundation in throwing. If interested, please contact Joseph Miclette, Head Coach at jmiclette@sjusd.org or irek79@yahoo.com, or Chuck Ball, Athletic Director, at cball@sjusd.org.

Lowell Invite: Coaches, I need a couple of days to figure out how many schools I can accept to the meet. Prior to Earlybird being cancelled, we were already approaching the all time high in number of schools. If you haven't already, please give me an estimate as to how many runners you will have per division. I may have to ask the larger teams to limited what you can run. If you have somehow been able to get on to the registration page on directathletics, please do not enter any names till I give the OK. Thanks, Andy Leong.

Postal Nationals are back: The 3rd Annual HOKA ONE ONE Postal Nationals Returns This Fall From August 23rd to December 15th, cross country teams can participate in a 2-Mile or 3200m event on the track with national and state champions determined by their top-5 runners’ cumulative time.
