Lynbrook Running : We start on June 17th at 5:30pm, Stephanie just can't wait to see you all again, and will run every Tu/Th throughout the summer meeting at Lynbrook Pool (although the Tue's will start in July for Hank, but you can still show up and run with whoever is there). SCVAL Qualifier: A School Record in the VB 1600R (3:20.85) highlighted a great day for the Vikes. A Section leading 42.58 mark in the 400R is #2 on Lynbrook's All Time List. MayC Huang PR's with a 4th place 5:12.38 while Julie Chen (15.84) also moves on in the 100H - as does Yvan Pham (5th). Roberts, Wong, Khan & Teng all move on in their specialties. Deal jumps 44-03.5 in the Triple for the win.

Track Dedication: Santa Clara High School invites everyone to attend a brief ceremony where
they will name and dedicate their track in the honor of Chuck Kappen for
his many years of service to their track program. The ceremony will take
place at SCHS track on Wednesday, May 5th at 2pm. Your attendance would be
greatly appreciated.
Vs Milpitas: What was at stake at Milpitas made our meet feel like a league championship event: our undefeated Varsity Boys vrs. their 4-1 team; our undefeated Frosh-Soph
Boys vrs. their 4-1 team; and the question of whether our Junior Varsity Girls could finish their regular season the way that they started, perfect. Well folks, our
answer to all of these scenarios was a resounding yes! A balanced effort in the young girls and boys events allowed us to finish each with a 6-0 record. On the
Varsity Boys side, we had several multiple winners with Khan (4x100, 100 and 300h at 39.8), Roberts, Teng and Deal. Great job guys and the best is yet to
come!

CCS Scores By League: It's getting to be that time of year when coaches start getting antsy about CCS - this little fun tidbit was supplied by Lynbrook coach Darrin Garcia.
CCS Top 8: SJ Merc covers the Top 8 while Lynbrook VB's improve their 4x100 time to #2 in the Section.
Saratoga HS: gets an Athlete Of the Week (Alicia Follmar) and a CoolKid (Jacquelynn Molzon) both XC and track runners.
Hampton/Phillips: Lynbrook starts the meet off with a PR for Wakabayashi (11:53 for the 3200) and a 4x100 win for the Varsity Boys. Doughty gets second
in the High Jump and the Varsity Girls drop six seconds to place third in the 4x400 (4:13).
Vs Gunn: a record setting day as Lynbrook becomes the first school to sweep Gunn in all four divisions since the JV Girls were added. Senior Taimur Khan
blasted a 22.3 200 for his 4th win of the day and Freshman Matt Kemp comes up big with a Varsity Shot PR 38'10". On the Girls, Julie Chen wins three events
and has a big seasonal PR in the 300's (47.9). Varsity Girls and Frosh-Soph come down to the mile relays were we won in exciting races. Great Job gang!
Arcadia: Taimur Khan sets a new School Record in the 400 (48.68) breaking Scott Seely's 49.04 (1977). Boys 4x200 also break the 1984 record with a 1:31.06 clocking.
Vs Los Altos: Lynbrook wins the VB, F/S Boys and JVG - season record for all divisions is 13-3, tops in SCVAL.

Deena Drossin Kastor: will be toeing the line this Sat at the Womens Marathon Olympic Trials. Also on the starting line is Lynbrook Alum Kim Fitchen-Young - lots of luck ladies.
Vs Wilcox: After 2 years the Lady Vikes take home a win. The other 3 divisions go to the Vikings as well.

WV Relays: By less than a second, School Records are missed in the VB 400IH and the VG 4x1600 but great marks are still achieved.
Brian Maxwell: founder of PowerBar and Olympic Marathoner has died of a heart attack at the age of 51.
Vs Palo Alto: Lynbrook once again takes 3 out of 4 wins (VG looses). Khan trys the 300IH (41.3) and Roberts gets a hand time 10.8 for the 100. Chen continues her winning ways in the 100LH (16.3) as does Huang in the Mile & 800.

Vs Los Gatos: Lynbrook takes 3 out of 4 divisions (VG) against the Cats. Roberts wins the 400 & 100 while Huang wins the Mile, 880 & 2 mile. Meet Pictires.
BAD NEWS: does happen and this just in from Lisa Renteria (WV Relays Meet Director) - CIF contacted her (emails and phone calls) saying that they CANNOT run a steeple at the WV Relays without risking sanctions. So the Steeple is being totally removed from the meet and will not be contested. She is VERY sorry (Lisa herself is a Steepler) that this had to happen.

Lynbrook Heptathlon: Day 1 highlights has Rachel Doughty clearing 5-00 in the HJ. After Day 2 Charles Chen wins by 42 points over Alex Goldberg. The ladies were even closer with Aga Goslicka taking a 24 point win over Aya Wakabayashi.

DA/Alumni All Comer: With the Mile Relay and TJ still to go, the DA Varsity had a slim 55-52 lead over the Alums. The first 3 legs had the alums still within 20 meters of the lead but a 71 anchor leg ended up being the downfall. Alums lost 69-53 once the TJ results came in as well..
