Lynbrook's Justin Robison was recognized on the All Mercury News Team as well. City of Millbrae Recreation Department : is looking for both aspiring and experienced coaches who are passionate about teaching skills, player development, leadership and sportsmanship for our elementary and middle school track & field program. Our spring sports (including track & field) run from late March to late May with practices and/or games taking place approximately three times a week. Section 3, Part B, Letter E: CCS athletes, do NOT wear your School Uniform at any All Comer Track Meet, per CCS By-Laws, "The school name, insignia, official colors, equipment, facility and uniforms belong to the school and may not be used in capacity other than in CIF competition as allowed within the CIF, CCS, League and school governing documents. If teams or individuals competing in or practicing with an organization governed by someone other than the CIF, use school names, school mascot names, school uniforms or anything that in any way identifies them with a particular CCS high school, they shall be considered a school team regardless of their affiliation with that outside agency." NCAA Investigating God: Amid a new scandal that many are already calling the most damaging in the history of collegiate sports, the NCAA announced Tuesday that it has launched an investigation into God, Divine Creator of Heaven and Earth, for allegedly giving gifts to student-athletes. Lynbrook's First Baseball Win: A little Blast From The Past... the school opened in 1965 but it took til 1967 for the Vikes to score their first SCVAL win. Francie Larrieu (Fremont Alum): This last week, our Fremont Boosters flew Francie Larrieu Smith in for the Fremont Hall Of Fame ceremony on Friday the 15th. She was introduced for the HOF ceremony by her old club coach, Augie Argabrite, which was very cool. On Saturday, she talked with our Winter Conditioning kids, parents and coaches: she was entertaining and informative. She reminisced about regularly training with the Fremont boys team in the same stadium, among other cool stories. She was great. What a cool lady. Shelley Smith (Mt View HS): a member of SCVAL League, is looking for a Head Track coach, plus a jumps coach (Long, triple and high Jump) for the upcoming 2016 track season. CCS Top Marks List (2016): Will be done using Athletic.Net so ALL marks from duals that qualify for ranking must be hand loaded if they are not automatically loaded by the hosting school OR if the complete results are in HyTek, Excel or some other Meet Mgmnt program, send them to Hank Lawson and I will load them into Athletic.Net for you. If you are not a Site Supporter of Athletic.Net (cost of $70) you SHOULD NOT try to load the results into Athletic.Net for Invites. Site Supporter status will get the results approved (and will then show up in the Top Marks list) within 24 hours. Non Site Supporter loads can take 5-7 days before they are approved. So do NOT load the results if you are not a Site Supporter (I will do that for the Invites). Thanks. SCVAL Jan. 2015 Track ByLaws. SCVAL Meeting Handouts. Lee Evans (Overfelt): At the 1968 Olympics he won gold in the 400m while also setting a WR in the event. In 1966 he surprisingly won the 400m at the AAU Nationals. What he also did on July 4, 1966 (link on left) was win 4 events in an All-Comer meet at Leigh HS with a 2:01.5 time in the 880 as one of his 4 wins. Mercy Burlingame HS: is looking for an Assistant Track and Field coach for the 2016 Spring Season. We are seeking someone with availability Monday through Friday from 3-5, and all day on some Saturdays for competitions. Any competitive experience in specific events is a plus, but most of all we are seeking someone with a passion to learn and teach. This will be a paid position with a full stipend. One Bad Tweet...: Athletes - keep this in mind if you're hoping for a scholarship. Lenin Zapata: I'm seeking a boys or girls XC/Track assistant coach position. Monta Vista HS (Cupertino): is looking for a sprint coach and either a horizontal jumps or throws coach for the 2016 season starting February 1. Stipends are available for both positions. Gunderson is located in South San Jose (easily seen from the 85 and 87 interchange) and competes in the BVAL. Candidates are preferred who have previous experience coaching throws and/or experience as an athlete. A coaching stipend will be available for this position. We practice M-F from 3:00-5:00, but flexibility is possible. The team is will be around 60 boys and girls of all grade levels, skill levels, and abilities. The throwers team has grown to about 12-15 athletes over the last two seasons and is expected to be about that size this year. These athletes have a great attitude, willing to work hard and have a solid foundation in throwing as almost all are multi-year returning athletes.
